VARICELA
La varicela es una enfermedad común entre los niños, particularmente entre los menores de 12 años. Se manifiesta con la aparición en todo el cuerpo de una erupción que produce picazón se asemeja a ampollas, y puede estar acompañada por síntomas pseudogripales. Por lo general, los síntomas desaparecen por sí solos. Sin embargo, debido a que la infección es muy contagiosa, se recomienda que un niño con la enfermedad permanezca en su casa y descanse hasta que los síntomas desaparezcan.
CONJUNTIVITIS
La conjuntivitis es una inflamación de la conjuntiva, la fina membrana transparente que cubre tanto la esclerótica (el blanco del ojo) como la superficie interna de los párpados.
Aunque la conjuntivitis puede ser alarmante porque se asocia a un intenso enrojecimiento ocular y es muy contagiosa, es una afección bastante frecuente y, por lo general, no causa lesiones oculares ni problemas visuales a largo plazo.
MONONUCLEOSIS
La mononucleosis es una infección que cursa con síntomas similares a los de la gripe (además de inflamación de ganglios linfáticos en cuello, axilas y/o ingles, dolor abdominal, dolor de garganta y/o muscular) y que suele remitir espontáneamente en pocas semanas con ayuda de reposo y abundantes líquidos.
